Non-Energy Benefits (NEBs) refer to the additional advantages generated by energy efficiency measures, beyond just reducing energy consumption. Within the BETTED project, a dedicated NEBs evaluation tool has been developed. The tool enables the assessment of the value of NEBs associated with specific Energy Efficiency Measures (EEMs) across the entire value chain. It is Excel-based and allows users to input implemented or planned EEMs and to identify the relevant NEBs.

For each identified NEB, users can assign an importance level based on the company’s strategic priorities. The third step consists of an analysis in which, for each NEB, the user indicates whether it contributes to cost reduction, enhances the value proposition, or reduces risks.

The identified NEBs are then classified according to their contribution to the company’s strategy in terms of value proposition increase, cost decrease, and risk reduction associated with the selected EEMs.

The tool is open access and can be downloaded at this link.
